I saw Valentino: The Last Emperor documentry last night. He is so talented. His clothes are works of art. I can only dream of having a gown of his. Now I understand why celebrities love him.

Marilyn memoirs

This is my favorite picture of Marilyn Monroe. She looks so sophisticated and super sexy.

Her life fascinated me. She had a hard childhood and a hard life to boot and still managed to make it big in Hollywood. Unfortunately, her life was too short, she numbed herself with drugs and alcohol and it got the best of her. I can't wait for the book "Fragments" by Farrar, Straus, and Giroux to come out this October. It tells an intimate side of her life and has some of her poetry in it that is supposed to be quite beautiful.

So many dreams...

I have so many aspirations for the future that sometimes I feel like I can't hardly wait. But I have to stop and smell the flowers from time to time. I think our lives are so fast paced that we do things on autopilot. Before you know it time has flown by. We spend so much time at work or doing things to prepare us for the future.

I am hopeful for the future though, a little scared, excited all at the same time. I like the quote on my blog that says "Success is a journey, not a destination."-Ben Sweetland

Venice Beach!

Since I can't make it to my dream Caribbean vacation at this time, I thought I'd hit up a local favorite, Venice Beach!

Here are my two dolls, sister Jackie and my niece Nerissa posing against Muscle Beach. There are some serious weight lifters there I tell you what!

Jackie wanted a Henna tattoo. Hey at least it's not permanent!

She chose this pretty Coi fish!

Jackie also got a hairwrap! I think it looks awesome!

There was this band playing there and the singer looked and sounded like Jimi Hendrix! So of course we had to tip the band for making a great effort!

It was cold and cloudy but we couldn't resist the ocean calling us!

I love this picture! The silhouette of the girls and the ocean background is beautiful.

Finally the sun came out so I took a shot of myself because I was sooo happy and warm!

We rented some bikes and rode for an hour along the busy bike path! It was the highlight of the day for me!

We rode all the way to Santa Monica, past the pier. It was a perfect day!!! I love hanging out with my cute chickidees!

Clear waters still on my mind

The clear, sunny weather is making me want to escape to a crystal clear beach.

I would love to stay in one of these huts on the water with a glass bottom so I can see some tropical fish come by!

And of course a trip cannot be complete without a cocktail!

I had a dream

I had the most vivid dream last night. It was sometime in the future. I was dressed really nice and so was Dave. My house was gorgeous, with glass windows everywhere. My furniture was really nice, I remember seeing lots of clear glass tables. Looking outside my window was a nice view of gardens. It was modern home.

I looked down on the sofa and there was the most beautiful baby girl I've ever seen. She was mine I knew that much. And Dave and I were just admiring her, she was a smiley, happy baby. Then I woke up. But I didn't feel sad that it wasn't true, it gave me hope.

Solvang partie deux

We were starving. We had some New York steaks, potatoes and veggies. We were giggling like mad at this point!

Our last stop at a cellar/bar! Iris and I were still tasting wines and Toni was tasting beer!

Okay seriously...we had to go dance to to complete the night! I had so much fun in one day!!

We made it to Solvang!

So we made it to Solvang for a girls wine tasting adventure! This is us at Buttonwood Winery. The grounds were nice, with lots of flowers.

I can't wait for this weekend! Iris,Toni, and I are going on a road trip to Solvang, California. Iris has been there many times and she loves it! It seems so beautiful there and relaxing. We are going wine tasting and shopping of course. Looks like the weather will be in the 70's and sunny! I'm glad we're doing a girls trip! It will be so much fun!

Paradise

I am dreaming of an ocean escape. I can smell coconut, pineapple, the ocean air and tropical flowers. I can feel the warm sun on my skin and the wind blowing my hair. I've got a tropical drink in my hand and I'm listening to the ocean waves crashing and the birds chirping. Ahhhhh....so relaxing.
I've been to Mexico's oceans many times and it's just beautiful. I'd like to go to Hawaii someday.

Any good reads?

I've always liked to read. It definately starts when you're young. I remember the book fairs at school and going to the library after school. I love'd it! So now in my spare time I like to stick my nose in a good book. Right now I am reading "Confessions of a Jane Austen Addict" and I love it. It's about a modern woman who wakes up one morning in the 19th century, it's pretty funny. A good book should whisk you away into another world. What are your favorite books?

Are you hungry yet?

I've got a major sweet tooth this morning. I need to eat! When I crave sweets it's usually chocolate I want but, I'm not picky. I've never turned down a treat in my day!!! What's your favorite/weakness treat?

Wake me, shake me

I'm sleepy and out of it! I didn't sleep well last night. I ate late at night, I think that's what did it.
I went to the gym early this morning too. It usually gives me more energy but not today. I am going to eat lunch and drink a nice cold drink, that should pep me up! Plus go for a walk over to do some window shopping. Some nice sunshine should do the trick. What keeps you awake?

Champagne and moonlight

Imagine all of your worries and fears just banished. You're lying on the tall grass surrounded by the smell of flowers and your favorite perfume on your skin, wearing your most comfortable, prettiest outfit. And you're thinking to yourself "life is grand".

I am there. In my happy place. What/where do you image your happy place to be?

Relaxation...

Tonight I am going to take a nice relaxing bath. I'm not a "bather", I'm more of a "shower and go" kinda girl. I do have a nice whirlpool tub that I never use and that's a shame. So I need to take advantage. I think that bathing is a ritual. It calms the mind and the body. Do you have any relaxation rituals?

Easter was yummy

On Easter Sunday I went to my mom's house to have lunch and hide easter eggs for my niece and nephew.

It was fun! I love to hide easter eggs and watch kids look for them. Although my nephew said he didn't want to participate (he's 12) but my niece who's 10 had a blast! He's kinda growing out of it. So she got tons of candy and some money that I hid money in a silver egg.

We had grilled fish, homeade potatoe salad, ceaser salad, corn on the cobb, cupcakes topped with raspberries! We were outside when the earthquake hit! Boy that was weird! It felt like I was on a boat swaying side to side. I was pretty scared. I'm glad I was with my family though.

Study, Learn and Live

Soon I'll be going back to school again to become a Dental Hygienist. I'm very excited and scared all at once! I took a lot of time off from school, I got my Associates Degree in Business Administration in 2007. I studied so hard and I was soooo tired by the end that I dreaded going back to school to get my bachelors. So anyway I'm looking forward to doing my homework. YAY! NOT.

No but really, I'm ready, let's do this thang!!
