New Years Resolutions

Maybe it is considered silly or a waste of time to make New Years resolutions? But on the other hand it helps to better oneself to acheive goals and step back and look at your life and see how you can improve it as well. So here they are:
1. Get healthy by eating better and working out regularly.(no goal weight nor size just smaller!)
2. Spend more time with friends and family.(especially with my mom)
3. Save more money.(for a vacation!)
4. Dress up more. (might as well enjoy my youth!)
5. Be a better person. (to others and to myself)
I think these resolutions are realistic and very possible!

Friday night Tantulum!

I can't get enough martinis! I'm not an lush or anything but they are so yummy! My favorite is of course the cosmo but I'm willing to try new flavors.

So on friday night Iris, Toni, Arnold, Scott and myself went to Tantulum restaurant for some cocktails. And let me tell you they were sooooo good. Iris and I had the Asian Peartini to begin with. Toni had a beer. Then I tried the Pink Elephantini it was bubblegum flavored vodka flavored with a cute little lollipop in it to stir it. Iris had a X-rated pomegrantetini. It was good too and it had a pretty orchid in it. It was a great time!

My pal Iris.

Boy, where to begin with my friend Iris....we met in 3rd grade I was in Ms. Kendall's class and she was in the next class over I forgot her teachers name? Was it Ms. Newman? We've been in a few classes together let's see: 4th grade (Ms. Bates), 6th grade (Ms.Duncan), 7th grade (Ms. Tatum) and (Ms. Atwood). After that I can't really remember plus I wasn't in school much...I was a major ditcher! Badd....anyway she's been my friend through all of life's challenges. We had some good times and some bad too but she's the only "girl" I can trust because she has a good heart and she knows where I'm coming from. I hope that we stay friends till our we're two little old ladies.  So cheers to old friends and new for that matter!

Christmas is a comin...

Well Christmas is just around the corner. Dave and I are going to Vegas to visit his mom for Christmas. It's been a while we've seen her so it's going to be nice. Shes going to make tamales! We're going to the strip of course to see all of the X-mas decorations and maybe gamble a bit. I like the 5 cent slots. I could sit there for a while and play. Hopefully they'll have some X-mas cocktails to drink at the bars. I'm looking forward to it! These pics are from Bellagio.

Mama said they'll be days like this.

I'm getting off to a bad start today. I couldn't wake up early enough to go to the gym. Even though I went to bed super early I could not get up this morning! What gives? Then I get to work late only 5 minutes but still, no breakfast and I'm running around...then all these things are going wrong at work. Last night I had a run-in with this girl who lost her phone and she wanted me to look through all of our bins for it. People don't realize how much crap is lost in buses and we have hundreds of stuff. So anyway I'm gonna try to be optimistic and have good thoughts! HA! I'd rather be here....

I feel good!...like sugar and spice!

I have been working out like crazy and eating much healthier by eating smaller portions and trying not to eat fried foods. I feel thinner, my back feels slimmer and my legs feel lighter too! I like to work out in the morning before work that way I feel more energetic and focused.
Sample day:
wake up 5:30 am
Gym 6:00-7:45am (workout 1 hr mix cardio/weights)
breakfast: 7:45am coffee of corse! Options:cottage cheese w/pinapple, banana, naked juice(green machine), fiber 1 bar.
work 8:00
lunch 12:00-1:00: full bar and what ever left overs from night before or a lean cuisine.
after lunch walk 1/2 hour
off work: 5:00
dinner: 6:00: protein size of a deck of cards, side of veggies, side of starch like rice/pasta or potatoes. 1/2 glass of OJ.
dessert: 3 cookies with 1/2 glass of milk or skinny cow ice cream or fat free pudding.
This is probably my favorite machine.

The Princess de Lamballe

The Princess de Lamballe was also the Queen's favorite she actually met her before the Duchess of Polignac. They had a lot in common and shared the same interests but the Queen became more interested in the Duchess de Polignac for she was more outgoing and a bit of a rebel, the Princess de Lamballe was more reserved.

Even though the princess had so much wealth and excess in her life she was very involved in helping the people of France and involved in many charity's. She was said to be very sweet and beautiful. Towards the revolution the Duchess left for the Swiss border fearing for her life, but the Princess was loyal to the Queen and remained by her side through the awful ordeal. Later on the Queen really apreciated the Princess for her loyalty. However, there was an angry mob that killed the Princess and stuck her head on a Pike, parading it around hoping to show her to the Queen.

The Queen found out about her beloved friend and fainted from the shock.
So sad, after that the Queen became very afraid for her safety and her childrens too.

The Duchess de Polignac

Marie Antoinette met the Duchess de Polignac and was so intrigued by her charm and beauty she quickly became her best friend or as they called them then was "her favorite". She invited her to come and live at Versailles. Marie Antoinette thought her to be such a fun person to have around though she had a bad reputation and was hated by the french people. She had a "bad girl" reputation so to speak. She was hated even more when Marie Antoinette paid off the family's debt and gave her husband a job at the court. People accused them of being lesbians! She was like "what the hell?" Towards the end of her reign the Duchess was urged to leave the country because of death threats.
Too bad for Marie Antoinette, they were so carefree and had so much fun together, with the lavish parties and extravagant things. She was her dear friend.

Gingerbread houses

I would like to make it a tradition to decorate a Gingerbread house with my niece every year. I love how pretty they are it reminds me of Candy Land the game! And I love candy! I thought that I would get over my candy fixation by now but I still am crazy about sugar!
We made one last year, this year I would like to add some extra touches.

I wish it would rain again...

It was so nice yesterday with it raining and all. I like the rain. There is something so renewing about it.
I love rainy nights too, they're so cozy. Last night I relaxed at home with some tea and chicken soup in my jammies.

I would love some of these rain boots they are cute and stylish!

Nice weekend

Since it was Tirso Jr's birthday week, on Saturday we celebrated with some carne asada! Yum...my brother makes a trip to East LA for some meat marinated in some delicious spices. It is totally worth it too. So the whole family was there. It's nice to all get together. As I get older I find that I really appreciate hanging out with my loved ones. I love having conversations with my mom, especially because we really never talked much when I was younger. And my dad is so funny he cracks me up!

Heres some old pictures of the kids last year in Old Town San Diego. Dave and I are planning to buy a new computer sometime this month.

Full Bars...do they really work?

Yesterday at Walmart I ran into some Full Bars. I've seen the cheesy commercial so many times and decided to try it. I ate a bar, the cocoa flavor and it was pretty good actually. It tasted like rice cake/cereal. Then I downed some water and waited a few minutes and I was pretty full already. I then started to eat my lunch and I couldn't finish it. I picked at it. I should eat those before my biggest meals. A box of 6 costs about $7 and some change. I'll try it and see how it goes.

BUSY HECTIC DAY!

It is so busy here at LB transit selling bus passes like hotcakes! Our new location is really taking off and more people are on transit now more than ever.Thats it right on the corner it looks like it has sails on it. It's a very nice state of the art building. I like the view we get to see all of the stylish people walk by and some of the "colorful characters" too! HA HA! Downtown gotta love it.
